Welcome to the UCSF Sandler Lentiviral RNAi Core!

For over six years this Core has been providing services to members of the research community. We combine the power of RNA interference and the use of lentiviral technologies to create silencing systems for research use.

Lenti-GFP infected neurons

Virus used for in vivo work must be high-titer and super-clean.  Cris Neill (Stryker Lab, UCSF) donated a nice movie of some stereotactic-injected lentivirus produced from the core.  Check it out!

ViraCore Movie

The ViraCore has published an online JOVE movie publication on Lentivirus production.  Also see the Pubmed link.  It covers many of the protocols that is used in the Core.

In the news...

The core contributed to a paper published by Michael Bassik and Robert Lebbink:   Rapid creation and quantitative monitoring of high coverage shRNA libraries
